Dear Anne, What a satisfying discovery Goldmine
Lodge has been. After years of trying out
the full range of accommodations at Big Bear--hotels,
condos, cabins, B&B's--I had given
up hope of finding anything I actually
liked.
Then came Goldmine, with its rustic charm
and good taste, and not a Victorian cliche
in sight. The fireplaces and wood paneling
in the suites really give a cabin-in-the
forest feeling--but with breakfast and
company available just across the driveway.
Since
I read as much as I write, I particularly
appreciated the handsome bedside lamps,
bright enough to prevent eyestrain. And
your location
is ideal. As promised, it really is only
a five minute drive to either Snow Summit
or Bear Mountain. You'll see the skiers
in our family again next winter. Thanks
