WE’RE
PET FRIENDLY!!!
Goldmine
Lodge welcomes you and your dog! Anne and I each
have dogs that we love. We find it hard to
leave Zoe or Schautzie behind when we leave to have
a fun time! So we understand. Bring your dog along
for the ride! We’d love to have them! We have
specially designated rooms for pets. You will find
a fresh bowl of water for Fido in your room when
we know that you are bringing your pet.
Anne will have a treat waiting in the office for
your furry family member when you arrive. We have
a lovely yard that your pet will enjoy. The grass
is green and we have lots of special Big Bear mountain
smells that are just waiting for your dog. There
is lots of running room and some balls that are just
for the dogs to chase.
We do have a few rules that will make your stay
enjoyable for all the guests staying at the lodge.
Your dog must be house broken. When you bring your
pet, there is a nonrefundable fee for the extra cleaning
we must do to be ready for the next guest but it
will be worth it to have your family complete! There
is a $100.00 refundable security deposit that will
be given back to you if the dog does no damage to
the room. If you must leave your pet in your room,
please be prepared with a pet carrier to contain
your pet. That way, the housekeeper will be able
to spiffy up your room while you are gone. We do
have an extra mid sized carrier for a $5.00 fee.
In addition, there is a designated pet walk so your
dog can do his/her business there. We are trying
to think of everything for your furry friend.
For the safety of your pet and others, we remind
you that your dog must be on a leash at all times
when outdoors. Your dog could be like Schautzie and
love to chase squirrels. If not on a leash, believe
me, you dog will be gone.
Big
Bear Valley is a grand place to take your dog for
a
walk or hike. We have maps of trails for your
convenience. The walk along the north shore of Big
Bear Lake is also a very nice. It is beautiful in
the early morning and in the evening. Lots of folks
like to bike, hike or meander along the North Shore.
We can show you on a map exactly how to get there.
Be sure to take extra water for yourself and you
pet. It is dry up here and you’ll need it.
We
love dogs! Anne has a wonderful exuberant purebred
mutt,
Zoë. Zoë has a zest for life that
would be good for human folks to exemplify. She is
fun loving, adventuresome, curious and playful. Anne
has taught Zoë lots of fun things like how to
climb a stool and kisses on demand. Anne got Zoë as
a little puppy and she will be 3 on July 27th. Zoë loves
to go for long hikes in the forest…hunting
for lizards. It remains to be seen what she will
do with a lizard when she catches one!
Liz
has a five-year-old Schnauzer, Schautzie. Schautzie
had never been out of the house before she came to
Big Bear Lake when she was 3. So she needed a lot
of socializing. Schautzie gets to come to Goldmine
Lodge when Liz is working. She has learned to be
around people very well. Schautzie and Liz go on
walks daily when Schautzie goes on her squirrel hunts.
Zoë looks down for lizards and Schots looks
up for squirrels. She loves to stalk the squirrels
and chase them up trees. If she could climb a tree
she would! Schautzie is loyal, loving and smart.
She has her own talk for going for a walk or just
sweet talk.
As you can see, we understand that you want to bring
your dog with you when you travel.
The
Dog House is also located at the Lodge. In the
Dog
House you’ll find specialty items for your
pet. We have travel water bowls, sweaters (it gets
chilly up here), and other items that your pet will
enjoy, or that you will enjoy with your pet.
As you can tell, we will look forward to having
you and your pet with us. We love animals! |
